RETREAT TO CANA

Founded in 2026, Camp Cana was established to serve the growing need for Catholic retreat spaces in the St. Louis and greater Midwest region. Built with intention and rooted in the life of the Church, Camp Cana exists to provide a peaceful environment where parishes and ministries can step away, encounter Christ, and return home renewed. Come see how Camp Cana can serve your group.

MEETING SPACES

At Camp Cana, we offer a variety of meeting spaces that serve retreats and gatherings of all sizes. Our clean, comfortable rooms are intentionally designed to support both structured sessions and meaningful moments of fellowship. Meeting Spaces will be assigned and scheduled with our staff based on group size. This may not always be the meeting room closest to the group’s lodging. When possible, room requests will be honored.

High Ropes Course

Our high ropes course will offer an exciting opportunity for adventure and personal challenge. Participants will be invited to step outside their comfort zones while developing courage, confidence, and trust in a safe and supportive environment.

Paintball Course

Our paintball course will give groups the opportunity to engage in friendly competition and team-based challenges. This activity will encourage strategy, teamwork, and plenty of memorable moments during retreat downtime.

Swimming Pond

Our pond provides a number of fun activities including the blob, water slides, a water trampoline, fishing, and swimming.

WHERE TO PRAY

Our St. Carlo Acutis Chapel has the Blessed Sacrament present, and retreats have full use of our vestments, Mass supplies, and monstrance. The chapel is conveniently located on top of the hill near Assumption Hall, making it a peaceful and accessible place for prayer and worship throughout your retreat.

Who are we

Cana is part of something bigger. We are part of the Life Teen Movement, whose mission is to lead teens closer to Christ.

Support for your retreat

Mission-led Retreats
In addition to providing meeting spaces, meals, lodging, and moderated activities, the community at Cana is ready to help make your retreat a success!

Our goal is to provide support to you prior to and throughout your stay so that your retreat runs smoothly. We prepare for your arrival through diligent communication ahead of time, by making sure rooms and meeting spaces are blessed and prepped, as well as praying for you and your teens by name before the Blessed Sacrament. We assign full-time missionaries to each group that comes to Cana. We strive to assist with whatever your group may need. It is our joy to serve you!

As a Catholic community centered on Christ and His teachings, our main mission and desire is to love well. No matter who comes through our door, we try to do everything possible to make you feel welcomed and loved. Upon your arrival, you’ll be greeted with a large smile and the familiar words of “Welcome Home”. This is your home, and we want to do everything we can to make it feel like home for you and your group. Our service to your retreat group can include:

Logistical
At Cana, we have a full-time staff member available every weekend to assist group leaders. This person will ensure everything you need will be provided. This staff member will be your “go-to” for any logistical needs such as session changes, hospitality or liturgical needs, or forgotten items.

Audio & Visual
Assumption Hall is fully equipped for your music ministry and media presentations. You bring the instruments and your laptop, and all you have to do is plug in and get started. If you need technical help, we’re here for that too.

Missionary
Beginning this fall, our missionaries will be available to accompany retreat groups in a more relational way during their time at Cana. We assign missionaries to each group that comes to Cana based on what the needs are for your group. In addition to being a sign of God’s joy and love to your teens throughout your time at Camp, here are some of the practical things our missionaries can assist with at no additional cost (pending availability upon time of request):

  • Giving one talk or personal testimony
  • Leading one or more of your small groups for the whole retreat
  • Providing music for one adoration, Mass, or prayer session (depends on availability)
  • Lead a prayer experience (e.g. a Rosary Walk, Stations of the Cross)
  • Help run A/V

If you think of other ways our missionaries can support you and help you have a fruitful retreat, please ask and we will do our best to make it work!
