Every teen wants to belong, yet lies fill their heads convincing them that they don’t. The pace of life, the pressure of society, and the digital landscape are constantly reminding them of how they fail to measure up, and all of those things can add up to a sense of unworthiness.
So, how do you counter this rising tide of isolation?
Imagine a teen, regardless of sin or doubt, finding themselves among a sea of thousands of their peers. Beyond performance, they slowly find the freedom to breathe, experiencing that they are actually loved as they are, where they are. At home among the broken, they begin to taste the hope that fills the room as music and the message break out. Apprehension begins to fade, something shifts in the heart when they realize the hope that they hear is Christ – and the home that they see is His Church – and that this is where they belong.
Belonging leads to encounter. That’s why we take every step we can think of to create a welcoming environment and sense of community at every Life Teen hosted Steubenville Conference. Our hope – and your investment – lies in the model Jesus left us, that belief grows out of belonging. Jesus welcomed the outcast, the doubter, and the sinner and it was through that welcoming that they encountered the Savior, and faith was born.
Our goal is to set the stage for a life-changing encounter with Christ through an authentic environment of community. We want to work alongside your parish to make sure that every teen knows that they are not only wanted, but are an irreplaceable part of these events. We trust that through this sense of belonging, grace will be allowed to move and faith will begin to grow. We’d love for you and your teens to join us at one of our five Steubenville Conference locations.
