Every Life Teen summer missionary commits to glorifying God through our rule of life. If you are considering applying to be a Life Teen Summer Missionary, please read through it.
Life Teen Summer Missions Rule of Life
First and foremost, you are answering Christ’s call to build up His Kingdom on earth. Throughout the summer, you will lead middle and/or high school teens closer to Christ through service, relationship, and prayer. You are joining the mission of Life Teen Summer Camps to create an environment for teens to meet Jesus Christ and develop a discipleship relationship with Him.
As a missionary, you are also responding to Christ’s invitation to deepen your personal relationship with Him and experience ongoing spiritual formation. You will be part of a mission community that together lives a structured and sacramental prayer life, supports one another in common mission, and holds each other accountable.
Summer Staff Applications for 2020 will open on Tuesday, September 3rd.
Primarily for second-year missionaries, the service crew is the behind-the-scenes team that serves in a variety of roles around camp. For 12 weeks, the service crew handles their specific tasks, while also facilitating the high ropes courses on camp.
From cooking meals in the kitchen, to shooting the camp video, to keeping the grounds looking clean, and much more in between, service crew is a great opportunity to dive deeper as a summer missionary in a teamwork-oriented, humbling, fulfilling role.
Service Crew applications for 2020 will open on Tuesday, September 3rd.
Summer Staff is a four to seven week mission serving primarily as a relational minister trained in the facilitation of small group discussions and team-building activities. Your primary responsibility will be to be present and minister to the teens, core members, and youth minister from one particular parish while they are at camp for one week. You will also be responsible for serving meals, assisting prayer activities, and the facilitation of many camp activities including an obstacle course, messy games, and high and low ropes elements.
Service Crew is a twelve week mission serving primarily behind the scenes as the backbone of summer camp. Through a number of different roles, summer missionaries on service crew are responsible for keeping camp running efficiently. Service crew members don’t have as much teen interaction as summer staff, but there are abundant ministry opportunities in each role available.
A vital part of Life Teen Summer Missions is inviting people to join you as mission partners; they will support you spiritually and financially through prayers and donations. No mission is successful without support; not only will camp be covered with intercession, but you will also be including individuals and families in the mission.
First-time summer missionaries, regardless of role, will be asked to raise $200 per week of service, while second and third-year missionaries will be asked to raise $100 per week. At the end of your mission commitment you will receive a stipend for the full amount you have raised up to a total of $200/week (i.e. $1000 for 5 weeks).
For second and third-year missionaries, Life Teen will generously match what you raise, dollar for dollar, up to $200 total per week. In addition, Life Teen will stipend an additional $400 and cover travel to and from the airport for missionaries serving for their third summer and beyond.
Housing for summer staff will be provided along with other summer missionaries of the same gender.
Summer missionaries will serve in a community of 20-30 college-aged students from around the world. Each summer staff will have two captains- a guy and a lady- who are second-year summer missionaries and are invited to serve as peer leaders of the staff. Both the summer staff and service crew will have a Coordinator and a Mentor, who are full-time Life Teen missionaries.

Each summer, while teens in the United States are attending a Life Teen Summer Camp, at the same time hundreds of miles away, teens in Haiti are doing the same. For two weeks at our mission base in Haiti, youth from all over the area fill the base to experience summer camp. Haitian Summer Missionaries serve for 3 months, beginning their formation in the states before traveling to Haiti to help facilitate summer camp and dive into the community. If you’re interested in bringing the #BestCampEver to the nations, this is your chance!
Applications to serve as a Summer Missionary in Haiti will open soon!
