DESCRIPTION
This position leads parish youth ministry endeavors, providing Christ-centered, enthusiastic leadership to recruit, support, and maintain youth participation. The Youth Minister collaborates with the Director of Faith Formation to provide leadership in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers. This position is taking over an existing ministry with consistent teen attendance and a dedicated CORE Team.
Requisite Qualifications
• A Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church in faith and personal
conduct. Personal life must reflect a highly ethical standard, including but
not limited to social media sites, informal gatherings outside of church, and
interpersonal relationships
• Love the Lord and teenagers
• Qualified for Safe Environment Practices in the Diocese of Phoenix, or have
the ability to be qualified as such
Essential Job Functions
• Plan and execute weekly high-school youth ministry events
• Plan and execute weekly middle-school youth ministry events
• Plan and execute a Sacrament Prep event every six weeks during the school year, preparing all teens for the Sacraments
• Plan and execute three retreats each year (two high-school and one middle-school)
• Organize and attend summer events for the youth
• Recruit, train, and support teams of volunteer CORE Members in the mission of serving youth
• Be involved with teen leadership endeavors
• Organize volunteers for a teen-led, parish Mass, held monthly
• Communicate clearly and effectively with parents, staff, and parishioners
• Maintain records for Parish, Diocesan, and Sacramental needs
• Promote and participate in Safe Environment Training (SET), meeting all Diocesan standards
• Work within the designated church budget and monitor expenses
• Be able to give an accounting of hours worked per pay period if requested
• Meet with the Faith Formation Team weekly

• Have an appreciation and passion for the Catholic faith and its Mission in the parish and in the world.
• Be a grounded Christ-follower with a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ & His Church
• Have a passion and vision for youth and their families to grow in faith together
• Understand that youth ministry hours vary and do include nights and weekends
• Strong interpersonal skills with youth and adults; exceptional listener and communicator
• A self-starter who can manage the creation, planning, and implementation of events
• A team player who is supportive of all ministries of the church
• Be proficient in GSuite and Microsoft Office
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Desired
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Musical ability
