DESCRIPTION

Role
A full-time position of leadership charged with creating a culture of encounter with Jesus Christ and His Church as well as intentional relationships at the Center. This position will assist in the effective implementation of the St. Lawrence organizational drivers by ministering to and forming students in the culture and mission of the St. Lawrence Center. The Campus Minister takes personal responsibility for making sure any initiatives live out our charisms of:

Forming Fullness
Living the Art of Relationship
Building a Culture of Home
Nurturing Wonder

Qualifications:
The Campus Minister must have a strong desire and natural ability to welcome outsiders and create experiences of encounter on a secular university campus. They must have an ability to relate to different types of people and experience being on mission. Experience working with sound, video, and social media is a plus. The Campus Minister at St. Lawrence must work well on a team and be comfortable having courageous conversations that contribute to staff unity and team development. They are a strong witness of the Catholic faith and committed to discipleship in their own life.

Responsibilities:

Marketing and Communications
– Develop and implement a marketing plan to reach new students and manage communication to all students
Email marketing via Week at a Glance
– Optimal signage and tour/orientation materials available on site
– Film and edit videos of ministry events and student engagement
– Design all print media, giveaways, and merchandise
Pastoral
– Receive students looking for one-on-one pastoral meetings and/or structured mentorship
– Be a visible witness on KU and St. Lawrence campus

Hospitality team
– Manage Interns: Goodco Events, GoodCo Social Media, Mass Experience, Tours and Front Desk
Create and lead formation events for interns and hospitality volunteers

Staff
– Assist the Director of Ministry and Mission in preparing and maintaining a budget
– Maintain accurate records of scholarship students
– Attend weekly supervisory meetings, weekly staff meetings, monthly ½ days of recollection, and strategy meetings when necessary
– Respond promptly to e-mails, calls, and visitors

Student Recruitment
– Constant outreach to new and prospective students to visit the Center, using mission formation students or an Ambassador team to host and give tours to new visitors
– Take personal responsibility for student registration process and for harvesting 2,000 students in the database
– Oversee the student registration process
– Collaborate with KU Admissions strategy and SILC and be our liaison to KURA

Events:
Slow Drip
– Assemble team and promote and manage weekly place of encounter with emphasis on being ready to welcome new students
– Meat & Greet Opening BBQ with goal of 500 students attending
– Plan the master schedule for the event
– Assign and delegate roles
– Communicate expectations with staff and student leaders
– Plan and implement a strategic marketing plan to promote the event with the aim of 500 students attending
– Responsible for 1-2 GoodCo Events per semester that create an irresistible environment of belonging and demonstrate our charism of living the art of relationship
– Ash Wednesday Marketing/ Mass Experience / Registration
– Resource for other belonging events and events imagined and implemented by students
