Job Opening: Senior Coordinator of Youth Ministry
Location: Catholic Center, Indianapolis
Status: Full-Time | FLSA: Exempt

The Archdiocese of Indianapolis is seeking a passionate and mission-driven Senior Coordinator of Youth Ministry to support and advance youth ministry efforts across the Archdiocese. This role provides leadership for archdiocesan youth ministry by developing, implementing, and evaluating formation programs, major events, and initiatives that strengthen youth faith and leadership. This role also supports parish youth ministry leaders through consultation, training, collaboration, and leadership development while providing strategic guidance to archdiocesan and parish leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and lead formation and engagement programs for parish youth ministry leaders
• Provide leadership for the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of youth ministry leader formation programs (Campference, Into the Heart, Embark), as well as major youth events and initiatives (NCYC, Holy Fire, Youth Rally for Life, Ignite)
• Develop, coordinate, and facilitate committees, advisory groups, and planning teams that support youth ministry formation programs, events, and strategic initiatives
• Partner with parish leaders to assess ministry needs, evaluate program effectiveness, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
• Support the Director in serving as a strategic consultant to the Archbishop, pastors, parish leaders, and parish committees
• Works with the Department of Parish Leadership on cross-office initiatives and goals

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Comprehensive knowledge of Catholic theology, doctrine, evangelization, and the mission of the Church, particularly as it relates to youth ministry
• Knowledge of current best practices, trends, and models in Catholic youth ministry, discipleship, leadership development, and faith formation
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with pastors, parish staff, volunteers, youth ministry leaders, and Archdiocesan stakeholders
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and support ministry leaders, volunteers, and committees

Education, Training, and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in youth ministry, theology, Catholic Studies, or related field preferred
• Minimum of two to three years of professional pastoral ministry experience with youth required; five or more years of progressively responsible experience in parish, diocesan, or Catholic ministry leadership preferred
• Ability to reliably travel to off-site locations on a regular basis, including travel of up to two hours from the office, using personal or alternative transportation.
