DESCRIPTION
St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Dedham, Massachusetts is looking for a person with a passion for music, Life Teen programming, and the Catholic faith. The Life Teen Music Director would be part-time (approximately 15 hours a month). Base salary with additional stipends.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To recruit members for the LifeTeen band that plays for the LifeTeen Mass.
2. To practice and rehearse with members of the LifeTeen Band.
3. To select music appropriate for LifeTeen Masses and other liturgical ceremonies.
4. To produce and copy a weekly worship aid that contains the music for Mass.
5. To play and sing at each of the Life Teen Mass and other liturgical services.
St. Mary’s is a parish deeply rooted in the mission of the Church, where prayer and the sacraments are at the center of what we do. Our magnificent upper Church, dedicated in 1900, is the heart of our parish. In the lower level of the Church, you will find Mary Hall where you will find our Life House, the location of our very vibrant Life Teen Youth Ministry Program, which is in its 29th year. The Parish Center houses the parish offices and is located in the brick building behind the Church. The rectory is next to the Church. It is the residence of the parish priests, as well as for other priests with responsibilities throughout the Archdiocese.
