DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

The Life Teen Director of Facilities holds a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and growth of both Life Teen Camps – Hidden Lake and Covecrest, located in Georgia. Entrusted with comprehensive facility oversight, this position encompasses the direct managing of all maintenance activities, spearheading construction and renovations, and ensuring adherence to organizational benchmarks. The Director collaborates closely with camp directors, oversees budgetary concerns, maintains vendor relationships, and is diligent about site inspections, reporting, and continuous improvement. The role emphasizes safety, staff training and responsiveness to feedback, ensuring the camps remain welcoming, sustainable sanctuaries for all attendees.

Essential Ministry Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Overall Camp Facilities: Ensure both Life Teen Camps (Hidden Lake andCovecrest) are maintained, safe, and up to organizational and legal standards.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Oversee all ongoing and preventive maintenance tasks,ensuring the longevity and functionality of camp facilities and equipment.
  • Procedures and Protocols: Develop operational and seasonal standards and schedules to be adopted and implemented at each camp for grounds, buildings, activities, and programs.
  • Construction & Renovation Supervision: Lead, manage, and supervise any new construction or renovation projects at both camps, ensuring they meet both budgetary, quality standards, and current codes.
  • Collaboration with Camp Directors: Work closely with both Life Teen Camp Directors to ensure facilities meet the needs of camp programming and activities.
  • Oversight of Preventive Maintenance Software: Manage preventive maintenance software to streamline maintenance efforts at both camps.
  • Budgeting & Cost Management: Year one, work with Camp Directors to oversee the budget for facilities, maintenance, and construction projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and fiscal responsibility.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all camp facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, maintaining a safe environment for both camp attendees and staff.
  • Vendor & Contractor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring the best services and prices for the camps.
  • Regular Site Inspections: Conduct frequent inspections of both camp sites, identifying potential areas of concern and ensuring ongoing quality.
  • Reporting: Regularly report on facilities status, challenges, and accomplishments to the Vice President of Camps and Missions.
  • Continual Improvement: Stay updated with the latest in facility management, bringing in innovations and best practices to enhance the functionality and safety of both camps.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response protocols for facilities-related incidents, ensuring the safety of campers and staff.
  • Staff Training: Coordinate with the Facilities Managers to ensure all camp facilities staff are properly trained and aware of maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Feedback & Suggestions: Welcome and address feedback and suggestions from camp staff and attendees regarding facilities, making necessary improvements.
