DESCRIPTION
The Coordinator of Youth Ministry is a lay ecclesial minister who is responsible for developing a pastoral ministry with youth. This includes weekly or bi-weekly gatherings, monthly activities, mission trips, regional, national, international events, and catechesis. The Coordinator is responsible for reaching out to all youth in the faith community, providing for formal catechesis, and inviting and enabling youth to serve others. In addition, the Coordinator is responsible for developing close communication with and mutual support from families of youth and collaborating with other communities, diocesan, and parish and school youth organizations.
Assumption Catholic Church, located at 2403 Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville, FL, is a vibrant, family-centered parish with a rich history and strong commitment to faith, service, and education. Founded over a century ago, the parish serves a diverse congregation through regular liturgies (including multiple weekend Masses and a Burmese Mass), perpetual Eucharistic adoration, sacramental ministry, and robust faith-formation programs. Assumption is home to Assumption Catholic School (preschool–8th grade) and a wide range of parish ministries—youth and young adult programs, outreach and social service initiatives, adult faith formation, and volunteer opportunities—that engage all ages and backgrounds. The parish campus includes a historic church building with chapels and worship space, school facilities, and active community gathering areas.
