DESCRIPTION

Role
A full-time position of leadership charged with creating a culture of encounter with Jesus Christ and His Church as well as intentional relationships at the Center. This position will assist in the effective implementation of the St. Lawrence organizational drivers by ministering to and forming students in the culture and mission of the St. Lawrence Center. The Campus Minister takes personal responsibility for making sure any initiatives live out our charisms of:
Daring to Stand Out
Forming Fullness
Living the Art of Relationship
Building a Culture of Home
Nurturing Wonder

Qualifications
The Campus Minister must have a strong desire and natural ability to welcome outsiders and create experiences of encounter on a secular university campus. They must have an ability to relate to different types of people and experience being on mission. Experience working with sound, video, and social media is a plus. The Campus Minister at St. Lawrence must work well on a team and be comfortable having courageous conversations that contribute to staff unity and team development. They are a strong witness of the Catholic faith and committed to discipleship in their own life.

Responsibilities

Pastoral (6 hours/week)
– Receive students looking for one-on-one pastoral meetings and/or structured mentorship
– Be a visible witness on KU and St. Lawrence campus
– Hospitality team (9 hours/week)
– Manage Interns: Goodco Events, GoodCo Social Media, Mass Experience, Tours and Front Desk
– Responsible for 1-2 GoodCo Nights per semester that create an irresistible environment of belonging and demonstrate our core value of living the art of relationship
– Create and lead formation events for interns and hospitality volunteers

Administrative (7 hours/week)
– Coordinate communication of Good Company activities to include website, social media, e-mail, flyers, as well as integration within the larger St. Lawrence Center platforms
– Assist the Director of Ministry and Mission in preparing and maintaining a budget
– Maintain accurate records of scholarship students
– Attend weekly staff meetings, monthly ½ days of recollection, and strategy meetings when necessary
– Respond promptly to e-mails, calls, and visitors

Student Recruitment (5 hours/week)
– Constant outreach to new and prospective students to visit the Center, using mission formation students or an Ambassador team to host and give tours to new visitors
– Responsible for all marketing to new students
– Take personal responsibility for student registration process and for harvesting 2,000 students in the database
– Oversee the student registration process
– Collaborate with KU Admissions strategy and SILC and be our liaison to KURA

Belonging Events (3 hours/week)
Slow Drip
– Assemble team and promote and manage weekly place of encounter with emphasis on being ready to welcome new students

Meat & Greet Opening BBQ with goal of 500 students attending
– Plan the master schedule for the event
– Assign and delegate roles
– Communicate expectations with staff and student leaders
– Plan and implement a strategic marketing plan to promote the event with the aim of 500 students attending

– Ash Wednesday Marketing/ Mass Expereince / Registratin
– Resource for other belonging events and groups imagined and implemented by students

Supervises: Student Leaders and Interns
Classification: Full-time Exempt
Department: Campus Ministry
Office: 1st Floor SLC. Remote work no more than 25% of hours.
Physical Demands: Standard Office
