Associate Director of Formation and Mission

DESCRIPTION

The Office of Adolescent Catechesis and Evangelization (OACE) serves parishes across the
Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston in their mission to accompany young people as disciples of
Jesus Christ. Through leadership development, catechetical formation, evangelization initiatives,
and practical ministry support, OACE equips those who serve adolescents to foster vibrant faith
communities where young people can encounter Christ, grow in discipleship, and actively
participate in the life of the Church.

The Associate Director of Formation and Mission provides vision and coordination for OACE’s
adult formation and ministry development efforts. This position oversees the development and
delivery of formation programs, leadership training for youth ministers, digital learning
opportunities, and professional development initiatives that support youth ministers, catechists,
Confirmation coordinators, volunteers, and parish leaders in effective ministry with adolescents.

This is a full-time, no less than 40 hours per week, in-office, benefits and PTO eligible position.
The Associate Director of Formation and Mission must be a practicing Catholic in good standing
with the Church.

Minimum Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Theology, Catechetics, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in experience in parish, diocesan, or Catholic school ministry.
• Demonstrated experience planning and leading training and formation programs.
• Strong understanding of Catholic theology, evangelization, adolescent development, and youth ministry best practices.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to complete diocesan background screening and Safe Environment requirements.
•Fluency in English, both oral and written. Spanish fluency a plus, but not required
