Core members are busy. Between work, school, family, personal commitments, ministry-related tasks, and the myriad of other items to attend to, it’s hard to find time for any sort of training. That’s where Connect the Core comes in.
Connect the Core is a new podcast-based resource that distills the content of our Connect the Dots series into bite-sized training pieces to help core members develop their ministry skills. Hear seasoned veterans in youth ministry share the hard-earned wisdom gained from their own personal experiences working with teens and adult volunteers. The questions, stories, and conversations are all immediately applicable to your team’s work in ministry. And the best part — it’s available whenever your core members are.
Connect the Core is designed for flexibility. You don’t need to schedule another training session or an hour-long meeting to deliver meaningful content. Core members listen at whatever time and place works for them, such as driving in the car, working out at the gym, or doing the dishes at home.
Season One includes eight episodes, released every two weeks over four months beginning in September. Have core members listen to the episodes throughout the semester on a schedule that works for your team. Use the accompanying digital Leader Guides to facilitate a brief discussion at the beginning or end of a regularly scheduled core meeting. Offer the Core Recap sheets to help solidify the training.
Your teens deserve the best from the volunteers in your ministry. Connect the Core is designed to help core members take the next step, whether they’re a first-year volunteer seeking tips and guidance or a seasoned veteran looking to hone their skills. Join us on the journey to better ministry.
