Yes, we prayed to God and talked about love.
Yes, we made the effort to be in a house (well, field) of worship.
Yes, there was even bread to symbolize the Last Supper.
But, I knew, in my heart of hearts that this wasn’t what I was entirely created for.
I had grown lazy, comfortable, and indifferent. My questions for God were numerous, but I didn’t bother to ask Him anything. My faith was stagnant, and I could feel it.

I cannot sanctify myself, and, thankfully, that’s not my job. My job is to love my Savior, to ask patiently and persistently for the grace of humility, and to trust that everything—including my sanctification—is in His hands.
Worshiping is all about taking time to not look inward to ourselves, but looking outward to God. It’s about putting God exactly where He belongs in our life -- right in the center, lifted up high.
