DESCRIPTION
The Youth Minister is the agent of the pastor at Christ our Redeemer (COR) Catholic Church within the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee, responsible for the implementation of a program to minister to middle school and high school youth at the parish following diocesan policies, along with incorporating elements of COR’s Religious Education’s Community Catechesis program into the curriculum. The youth minister fosters a comprehensive and holistic approach to youth ministry that recognizes the cultural, developmental and spiritual diversity among adolescent Catholics. The youth minister is responsible for developing middle school and high school student leadership, empowering young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today, fostering the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person and drawing the youth to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the faith community.
Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church began celebrating Mass in Bluewater Bay in late-1980s and celebrated the first Mass in a Multi-Celebration Building in October 1991. In 2005, Bishop John H. Ricard, SSJ broke ground for a new sanctuary that was dedicated on Divine Mercy Sunday in 2008. In September 2025, the parish celebrated the dedication of a new Faith Formation facility. Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Parish is an open, diverse and vibrant Christ-centered family, inspired by the Holy Spirit to nurture and share our faith through celebration of the Eucharist prayer, education, outreach and community.
