The Youth Minister’s role is to assist the pastor in providing Religious Education to youth from middle school through young adults. Middle and high school programs serve and supplement family catechesis, with the family being the primary catechetical teacher of youth. This includes programs for seasonal formation (i.e., summer, Advent, Lent). The Youth Minister reports to the Pastor or Pastoral Assistant, in his absence. The Youth Minister works with the Director of Religious Education during some Confirmation preparation.
Covenants of Employment. This person must be a Catholic in good standing, registered at Sacred Heart Parish. All employees of Sacred Heart Parish are expected to respect and conduct themselves in accordance with the values, teachings, and morals of the Roman Catholic Church. No one will be hired or retained when that person is determined to have engaged in the abuse of a minor or to have violated boundaries in dealing with minors.
