Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church is seeking a part-time Director of Religious Education (DRE) to lead and coordinate our parish faith formation programs. This is a flexible and meaningful ministry opportunity for someone passionate about sharing the Catholic faith and supporting families in spiritual growth.

Position Overview

The DRE is responsible for overseeing religious education for children and youth, coordinating sacramental preparation, and working collaboratively with the pastor, catechists, volunteers, and families to foster a strong and vibrant faith formation program.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate parish faith formation programs (K–10 or equivalent)
Oversee sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation
Recruit, train, and support volunteer catechists and aides
Communicate regularly with parents and families
Maintain records, calendars, and program materials
Work collaboratively with the pastor and parish staff
Qualifications
Practicing Catholic in good standing
Strong understanding of Catholic teachings and sacramental life
Experience in catechesis, education, youth ministry, or parish ministry preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and families
Basic computer skills (email, documents, scheduling tools)
Schedule & Environment
Part-time position (approximately 10–20 hours/week)
Highly flexible schedule with some evenings and occasional weekends
