Big V Vocation is for all of us. We each have a divine calling written on our hearts, a life through which we reach heaven and lead others there, too.
I remember this trip to the confessional like it was yesterday. A big sin was weighing on my heart, and I sat face to face with my chaplain. What would he think? “Father, forgive me for I have sinned…” I decided to get the worst out of the way first.
As I stepped off the plane during my first mission trip, I hardly expected the ways in which my understanding of poverty was about to be challenged.
God has proven time and time again that He’s not going anywhere. Why, then, do we fear the path ahead? Don’t we know He will be waiting for us at the end of the journey, without fail?
Just as sin can rewire our brain and change the way we tend to react, virtue can rewire us for greatness.
Unfortunately, however, when the Catholic Church enters the discussion, it’s immediately branded as a male-dominated institution full of prejudices.
