St. Matthew’s Church in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking to hire a full-time Youth Minister. The candidate applying should be a highly motivated, self-starter who has the skills and gifts to build a program for 6-12 graders. This includes faith formation programs, evangelization, and community-building activities for the youth. The Youth Minister also coordinates the Confirmation Program. They will also plan and implement Edge for middle school and LifeTeen for our high school students.

A bachelor’s degree in theology or religious education, or an unrelated field holding Diocesan or National Youth Ministry certification is preferred. Three to five years of experience in youth ministry in a Catholic parish, or other proven leadership experience is strongly preferred. The candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic and in good standing with the Church. Weekend and evening hours will be required. Must attend Safe Environment Training and pass all background checks.
