DESCRIPTION

The Youth Minister coordinates and directs Edge and Life Teen programs, as well as provides other faith formation opportunities for Junior and Senior High school students in the parish and the Area Faith Community. The youth minister also coordinates the Confirmation Program.

ABOUT PARISH/ SCHOOL/ ORGANIZATION

The Church of St. Peter is a Catholic community within the Diocese of New Ulm. We are a part of Apostles Peter & Paul Area Faith Community with the Church of St Paul in Nicollet, MN. The Church of St Peter has approximately 850 households and is growing. A Catholic parish has been in existence in the city of St Peter since 1856. The Church of St. Peter is a parish formed from the combination of 2 parishes, Immaculate Conception and St. Peter. On March 29, 1998, a tornado destroyed the Church of St. Peter which had been built in 1911. The present parish facility completed in 2000 includes: worship space, chapel, social hall, gym, meeting rooms and
John Ireland School. The Church was dedicated on November 26, 2000. Church of St. Peter Mission Statement “United and inspired by the Holy Trinity, we are disciples guiding disciples.”

John Ireland School Mission Statement “Catholic Community welcoming children of all faiths, devoted to Gospel Values, Academic Excellence and Christian Service”. John Ireland is Preschool thru 8 grade Catholic School owned, operated, and supported by the Church of St. Peter as an important educational ministry. John Ireland School is an accredited school providing a full state approved curriculum required by the Church of St. Peter and the Minnesota Nonpublic School Accrediting Association.
