Confirmation, Youth & Young Adult Minister (CYYAM)

DESCRIPTION

The CYMYA Coordinator is commissioned with setting the overall vision for Youth & Young Adult Ministry in collaboration with our DRE. The CYMYA also serves as the official youth advocate in the parish, the CYMYA is also responsible for:

Recruiting volunteers to facilitate and support ministry initiatives & gatherings, Providing guidance and training to the Youth Ministry Team, Providing support and guidance to the teens of the parish community, Maintaining the social media for the CYMYA ministries, Recruiting and encouraging active teen participation in Programs & Activities, Working in conjunction with the Diocesan Youth Ministry Office, Overseeing all teen involvement in parish programs & activities to ensure that Protecting God’s Children standards are maintained., Logging and reporting service hours earned by the teens to their appropriate school
Recruiting teens for Liturgical Ministries, Recruiting, Training and overseeing the Altar Servers

Starting Salary is between $40-45k with benefits based upon background and experience.

Ministry Overview:
Based upon the principle of relationship the CYMYA Coordinator begins with our 8th grade confirmation program to foster and develop relationships while preparing them to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation through the LifeTeen Curriculum. In building upon the relationships developed through the confirmation program the CYMYA Coordinator continues to develop the teens throughout their high school years through interactive and engaging Life Nights. Finally our CYMYA Coordinator maintains these connections with our young adults, while away for college, in addition to creating social opportunities to foster community, as well as bible studies for those 18-35 year olds in our parish community.

CYMYA Mission Statement:
Our Mission is to respond to the social and spiritual needs of the teens and young adults in our parish community by providing fun programs, activities, and events grounded in the teachings of Jesus Christ that will allow them to express their faith through their own words and actions; to encourage them to use their individual talents in programs and ministries that interest them in order to nurture their growth as disciples, while providing opportunities to practice Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.
