DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a full-time Youth Minister to help run our Life Teen program. With the Confirmation age being lowered from 10th Grade to 8th Grade in our Archdiocese, we see this as an opportunity to build something great for the teens in our parish. In this position, the Youth Minister would work closely with the pastor and assistant pastor while running catechetical nights, forming a Core team, and running youth ministry events and trips. We have a Part-Time Confirmation Director, but we ask the Youth Minister to be at Confirmation classes to build relationships with the youth.
Our parish is located just outside of Boston, in a small beachfront community called Winthrop. We started a Life Teen program a year ago, and we want to see it succeed. We have been met with success. We have kids more involved with our sacramental life, and we have many teens who come by to use our facilities (a youth center and a gym). We have been using the Confirmation program to gauge interest among the teens, to see who is open to going deeper in their faith. We want to grow, though, and thrive even more. The parish wants a strong Life Teen program, and the teens would be excited for a quality program.
