Missionary
COMPANY: Adore Ministries
LOCATION: Houston, TX

DESCRIPTION

The full-time missionary is responsible for evangelizing & discipling middle and high school teens within a Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Full-time missionaries will work a flexible schedule of 35-40 hours a week. They will serve alongside a missionary team, led by a lead missionary, to fulfill the vision in forming teens through 1-on-1 discipleship, youth group, bible studies, retreats, and other ways the team discerns to serve that particular mission.

No one is left to serve on their own. They are encouraged to find additional ways in which to reach and serve the community outside of the parish. Full-time missionaries are trained and required to support raise and to build their support team for long-term financial stability so that they have the freedom to increase their support team when prudent. The foundation of all of this is prayer. Missionaries are asked to spend 30-60 minutes in prayer each day and to make an annual personal retreat.

ABOUT PARISH/ SCHOOL/ ORGANIZATION

Mission Statement

We are a community of Catholic lay missionaries, single men and women, married couples, and families, called by our Baptism to mission. We seek to love and walk with our neighbors, sharing the Gospel joyfully, living our faith, and growing in loving relationship with God and each other. We dedicate our lives to the Gospel and strive to live a life of simplicity, authenticity, and loving investment in communal life.

Vision Statement

We envision a world set ablaze through the power of people authentically worshiping Jesus Christ with their entire lives, in the Eucharist and in the Body of Christ. We pursue this vision by sending missionaries to the underserved communities in the church, empowering them to start movements of worship, and creating moments of authentic encounter with Christ in the Eucharist and each other.
