Life Teen strengthens our teens' Catholic identity, while rooting them firmly in Christ and in His Church.

Location: Northfield, OH
You will work with the parish’s 6th, 7th, and 8th grade youth through comprehensive Catholic youth ministry, with the goal of leading teens and their families closer to Christ, forming lifelong intentional disciples, and engaging youth in the life of the parish. St. Barnabas Catholic Church will use Edge by Life Teen as the primary model of middle school youth ministry. You will launch Edge, including the marketing, recruitment, and volunteer training. You will be in the Day School regularly, building relationships with students and sharing the vibrancy of the faith, helping bridge the parish and day school communities. You will help with Life Teen retreats to build relationships with older teens who will be part of your Edge Core.
You will also be sharing the kerygma via all media, both old and new to parishioners and non-parishioners, using social media skills to spread the Gospel and promote engagement.
As a member of Pastoral Staff, you will maintain professional competency through your Catholic lifestyle, personal prayer life, and continued training. You will be an important part of staff visioning, have a presence at least monthly at weekend liturgies (if not a parishioner), and be a joyful co-worker in the vineyard.

Solid understanding of the teachings and theology of the Roman Catholic Church
Demonstrated ability to interact with middle school youth, parents, school, staff, parishioners
Excellent communication, computer, time management, and organizational skills
Mastery of audio/visual and social media
Understanding of all aspects of Diocesan Safe Environment standards
Knowledge of Pope Francis’ Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation, Christus Vivit, and USCCB document, Renewing the Vision – A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry and other pertinent Church documents
BA in Theology or related field, is preferred

—Sharon Szabo: Mother, grandmother, and evangelist! Following a successful career in the business world, Sharon joined our staff last year at Director of Faith Formation and is totally committed to building and sustaining holy families!
—Jesus: it goes without saying, but the Eucharistic Lord is at the center of everything we do at St. Barnabas. For over twenty years, our parish has adored Jesus in our Perpetual Adoration Chapel because He wants nothing more than to spend time with His beloved!
