Overview:
Life Teen is seeking a talented, organized, and hospitable individual to become our new Food Service Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have kitchen experience, a heart for service, a welcoming attitude, organizational skills, excellent time management, the ability to lead volunteers and staff in the kitchen, and a desire to lead souls closer to Christ.

Position Summary:
Provide radical hospitality for all guests through quality dining experiences and food.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster radical hospitality where Christ is the guest and Christ is the host in us.
  • Manage and execute food service and kitchen facility at Hidden Lake.
  • Operate both front and back of the house areas including outdoor dining areas, ensuring cleanliness, proper maintenance, safety, and comfort of all areas.
  • Meet and maintain ServSafe and State of Georgia health standards.
  • Develop guest menus of high quality and taste while working within set budget.
  • Place and receive food orders.
  • Work with food service providers to ensure quality and price point control with all food orders.
  • Manage all kitchen staff including volunteers.
  • Offer alternative meal options for guests with food allergies and other dietary needs.
  • Plan and prepare theme meals and environments to compliment summer camp themes.
  • Manage and minister to summer Service Crew.
  • Assist Facility Manager and Guest Relations as needed to complete tasks around camp to support guests and facility, such as:
    • Maintaining grounds
    • Maintaining and upgrading camp housing
    • Preparing guest housing and retreat facilities for retreatants.
  • Adhere to Rule of Life and Community Standards.
  • Complete other tasks and projects as needed.

Direct Reports to this Position: Any kitchen staff and volunteers
Reports to: Hidden Lake Camp Director

 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church and faith.
  • Proficiency in working on a computer, and ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work as a team.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and hospitably with a servant’s heart and ministry mindset.
  • Well-developed sense of workflow, time management, and prioritization of projects.
  • Ability to manage personnel and provide direction to others.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Creative with original ideas and a keen eye for aesthetics and details.
  • Organized detail-oriented with a heart for taking care of others.
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen or experience cooking for large groups of people.

This listing a Full Time on-site and salaried position at Camp Hidden Lake in Dahlonega, Georgia. This position requires flexibility in one’s schedule and involves weekend commitments.
