DESCRIPTION

Summary of Role:
Over the past 3 years, St. Patrick Catholic Parish has been blessed to have a NET Discipleship Team supporting our youth ministry efforts. As our partnership with NET concludes, our commitment to helping youth become Spirit-filled missionary disciples of Jesus Christ continues through the addition of a new position to our parish team. Reporting to and working alongside the Coordinator of Youth Discipleship, the Associate Coordinator of Youth Discipleship will provide critical support and leadership for ministry to youth in grades 4-12. This new role includes shared responsibility for weekly youth ministry activities, recruitment and mentorship of Core Team members and student leaders, Confirmation preparation, and youth retreats and conferences. It also includes a particular responsibility for collaborating with St. Patrick School to lead discipleship efforts that engage students and parents, alike.

Key Responsibility Areas:

1. Coordinates discipleship formation for 4th-12th grade youth in the parish community:
-Large and small group ministries
-Mentors and recruits Adult Core Team
-Youth leadership and Christian service opportunities
-Retreats & youth conferences
-Presence and availability to youth and their families

2. Supports Confirmation preparation for youth in grades 7-12:
-Communication about Confirmation preparation
-Registration and on-boarding of new candidates
-Tracking completion of preparation requirements
-Annual Confirmation retreat
-Annual Confirmation Mass and reception.

3. Collaborates with St. Patrick School for discipleship formation of middle school students:
-Communicates with Renewal Ministries about weekly discipleship formation for 7th and 8th grade students (BeLove & Forged) and provides support as needed
-Provides quarterly updates to parents about BeLove & Forged
-Communicates with parents about Confirmation preparation, youth ministry, and other opportunities offered by the parish
-Supports efforts to continue fostering a culture of intentional discipleship
-Presence and availability to students and their families
-Lead Middle School Retreats in collaboration with Renewal Ministries

Ideal Candidate must
Be a disciple of Jesus Christ who is baptized in the Spirit and passionate about making disciples
Be committed to growing in holiness through daily prayer and personal conversion
Demonstrate sound understanding of the theology of the new evangelization, discipleship, lay apostolate, and parish renewal
Be approachable, affable and winsome, capable of winning people over
Be capable of empowering, encouraging and equipping individuals to pray
Have experience in youth ministry.
