Encounter Conferences are events that gather Catholic Young Adults (ages 20 to 30) and draw them into an intimate encounter with Jesus. These events feature great music, awesome prayer, and unique sessions that both equip young adults and connect them to others on the journey.

Chris Stefanick speaks to over 50,000 teens, young adults, and parents every year. This youth ministry veteran served at a parish in the East Los Angeles area and as director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Archdiocese of Denver. He is the founder and president of Real Life Catholic, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reengaging a generation. Chris is a syndicated columnist, has authored or co-authored several books, and is a regular on Catholic TV. He is most proud of his wife and six children.
Joel Stepanek has been actively and passionately involved in youth ministry for over 10 years. What began as a simple internship in a parish youth ministry office evolved into an incredible adventure that led him on numerous middle school lock ins, high school retreats, and ultimately to meet his wife, Colleen, who is a campus minister. Joel is the Director of Resource Development for Life Teen International where he creates engaging youth ministry resources for middle and high school students. He received his Master’s degree in religious education with an emphasis in youth and young adult ministry from Fordham University. Joel is an avid Packer fan, loves cooking, running, and spending time with his wife and son, Elijah Daniel.
Nic Frank has been reaching youth all around the country for nearly a decade. Nic serves as a youth minister with Adore Ministries and has worked hard to bring the New Evangelization to different youth programs in Texas, Louisiana, and currently, in Rockford, Illinois. When Nic is not working with teenagers he is serving his “Domestic Church” alongside his beautiful wife and daughter.
Katie Hartfiel is an author and speaker dedicated to sharing the intense love of the Lord. As a teenager, Katie fell in love with Christ at a Steubenville youth conference in her home state of Colorado. She received a degree in theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville and served as a youth minister for seven years in Houston, where she now resides with her husband, Mark, and two daughters. In 2012, Katie released her first book, Woman in Love. This work coaches young women as they strive for purity through praying for and journaling to their future spouse. She has been blessed to watch hearts come alive with the realization that our faithful God hungers to exceed our deepest desires.
Josh Blakesley’s mission is to make music that moves people into prayer and action. He began leading worship 15+ years ago and isn’t slowing down anytime soon. He just released a new mass setting called Mass of Restoration, which he leads at any Steubenville Conference of which he is a part. Josh travels with his band around the country at least 80 dates a year. He also serves as the Associate Music Director at his home parish in Central Louisiana, where he lives with his wife Heather and two children, Sophie and Sutty.
Throughout his teenage years, Fr. Joshua Johnson was aware of a deep ache in his heart for something more. He sought to fill the ache in every way that the world offered him happiness. He wrestled deep within his heart and came to know Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of the restlessness in his heart. Today Fr. Josh is a priest for the Diocese of Baton Rouge. Prior to his ordination to the priesthood, he attended Southern University and graduated from St. Joseph’s Seminary College and Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. He has led many retreats and workshops throughout his diocese and has travelled the country sharing his witness on the healing power of Christ!
The Encounter Conference will be held Saturday, October 14th from 10am-10pm with an optional Friday night pre-session available.

Please print, sign, and bring this Life Teen Participant Agreement Form with you to the conference to turn in at check-in.
The closest airport is the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport. The drive to Hidden Lake in Dahlonega, GA is approximately 2 hours from the airport, but can sometimes take a bit longer depending on Atlanta traffic. Participants are welcome to drive to Hidden Lake, and parking is available at camp.
For those wishing to avoid renting a car, an optional shuttle between the Atlanta Airport & Camp Hidden Lake may be ordered at the time of registration for a fee of $20 per person. The shuttle is not available on Saturday morning. It will only pick up on Friday evening and drop off on Sunday morning. In order to ride the shuttle, your flight must land no later than 5:00pm on Friday, October 13th as the shuttle will depart the airport at 5:30pm. On Sunday, flights must depart no earlier than 3:00pm.
