The goal of this night is to give the middle school youth a clear understanding of the Church’s teaching on marriage in light of the current issues and confusion in regards to homosexual “marriage.” There will also be a brief explanation of sexuality, of how men and women were created, and of God’s plan for sexuality in marriage.

For the youth to come to know that in the midst of loneliness and depression they are not alone and that there is a God and a community that loves and cares about them.

This Edge Night is intended to be a part of the Catholic Church’s initiative for continuous training and awareness in Safe Environment.

The goal of this Edge Night is to challenge the youth to grow in appreciation for their families especially their parents. This night will help the youth learn what it means to honor their father and mother and the importance of obedience. They will also learn about the importance of the family in the world as a reflection of God and how we are all a part of the Christian family.
An Issue Night on Life Teen’s 2013 Theme
The goal of this Edge Night is to bring the middle school youth to a deeper understanding of their personal fears and anxieties, but, even more than that, of God’s greatness that overcomes any fear they may have. By the end of the session the middle school youth will have a more concrete comprehension of what trusting in God can do to dispel fears and help them stand firm in faith.

The goal of this Edge Night is to make the middle school youth aware of the dangers of drugs and alcohol and also our Christian responsibility as a middle school youth to resist the temptation to drink or do drugs.
The goal of this Edge Night is to make the middle school youth aware of the dangers and consequences of bullying others. The youth will understand that every person deserves respect because we are made in the image and likeness of God.
An Issue Night on Modesty
The goal of this Edge Night is to make the youth aware of the fruit of the spirit called modesty in both what they wear and how they communicate. The goal is also to help them understand that modesty is not only about what they wear, but knowing the body is sacred.
An Issue Night on Service and Corporal Works of Mercy
This year we are focusing on the corporal work of mercy of “giving drink to the thirsty.” This Edge Night will give the youth an awareness of the lack of clean water to millions of people in the world. Through a “change drive,” the global Life Teen and Edge community will raise money to build and maintain four water wells in Africa. Finally, this Edge Night will reveal Christ as “living water” for all our needs.
An Issue Night on Forgiveness
The goal of this Edge Night is to allow the middle school youth to learn about the importance of forgiveness. They will learn why forgiveness is so important not only in their daily lives, but as a party of their relationship with God as well.
An Issue Night on Morality
To help the middle school youth understand that morality is not about following a set of rules, but rather it is a response to God’s call for us to be in a relationship with Him.
An Issue Night on Popularity
The middle school youth will come to a deeper understanding that popularity should not be our goal, but rather life in Christ, which leads to true happiness. This night will call the group to challenge their assumptions about popularity and seek acceptance and belonging in Christ instead.
An Issue Night On Depression
The middle school youth will take a deeper look into the serious topic of depression and how this is manifested in their lives. The sessions will also help the middle school youth to seek Jesus Christ to help them, as well as their friends and family when they experience depression.
An Issue Night on Physical and spiritual Poverty
The middle school youth will come to an understanding that we need to be spiritually poor in order to better follow Jesus

To help the middle school youth look at the excess that often crowds our lives and how excess (both physical and spiritual) often leaves no room for God.

The middle school youth will come to a deeper understanding of the virtue of patience and the role it plays in their daily lives in order to develop a more patient and enduring heart for Christ.

The middle school youth will develop a deeper awareness of the season of Lent; its traditions and signi cance to the spiritual life of a Christian.
An Issue Night on Cheating
The middle school youth will develop a greater understanding of why cheating is destructive and how we are called to act as Catholics.

The middle school youth will examine the priorities in their lives and be challenged to see the importance of setting Christ and their faith life above all other things. Their other priorities will fall into place when God is set as number one.
An Issue Night on Making Good Choices
The middle schoolers will recognize the importance of making good choices; whether small or large; in their lives. They will realize that many of the choices they make affect them more than they know, as well as realizing that their choices can affect other people too.
An Issue Night on Dealing with Stress
The middle school youth will discover new ways to deal with stress in their lives. They will also learn to prioritize their lives to eliminate some of the things that cause stress.
An Issue Night on Finding Joy in Christ
The middle school youth will gain a deeper understanding of what true joy is and how it can only be found in a life centered on Jesus Christ.

The middle school youth will develop a deeper understanding of the effects of the media on their lives. They will be challenged to be conformed to Christ, rather than the in uences from TV, magazines, and the Internet.
