While God the Father’s giving of His Son reached its high point during Jesus’ Passion and death, it began with the Incarnation — the point in salvation history when the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, without losing or altering His divine nature, assumed our human nature and became man. The Son’s willingness and obedience to empty Himself and take on our human nature was a source of tremendous joy when it happened more than two millennia ago, and it continues to be a source of unending joy now. The Advent season provides us a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon two interconnected events: the Incarnation and the Second Coming. The goal of Wait for It is for teens to dive into the Advent liturgical season so that they may use this time to joyfully embrace the coming of Jesus Christ.
