Harvest An Edge Night on Almsgiving About this Night The Gather begins the Edge Night with the youth and parents working together to discuss the things in their lives that are necessary for survival and those that are above what is necessary. They then watch a video that raises awareness on how we can help the poorest of the poor, especially during Lent. The Proclaim reveals how almsgiving is a part of God’s plan to be present with His people. The Break challenges the youth and parents to think about specific ways they can give, not just from their abundance and not just monetarily. The Send gives the youth and parents an opportunity to meditate and pray for the poor and marginalized. Goal of This Night The goal of this Edge Night is to give the youth and parents a greater awareness of the importance of almsgiving and how it can help them grow in their relationship with God. It is a time for us to remember that He is our creator and He has given everything to us, thus, we should not hold back what we have from Him or His people who are in need.
