Trust A Life Night on Trusting in God's Mercy About this Life Night This Life Night begins with a trust fall and small group discussion about trust. The Proclaim explores the importance of fully receiving and trusting in God’s mercy. The Break gives the teens the opportunity to look at their sins, without fear, because they know God’s mercy is greater. The teens do an Examination of Conscience and write a letter of contrition to Jesus. The Send teaches the third part of the Divine Mercy message, complete trust in Jesus. The Life Night ends with a walking Divine Mercy Chaplet. Goal of This Night The goal of Trust is to teach the importance of fully receiving and trusting in God’s mercy. Catechism # 1422 - 1424 # 1847 # 2040 Scripture Psalms 13:5 Matthew 18:21 -35 John 14:1 Key Concepts • In the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant, Jesus not only teaches us to have mercy on others but also instructs us to trust in God’s mercy. • Like the unforgiving servant, we are in need of mercy. We have sinned. We have an impossible debt. The Good News is that Jesus, through His redemptive work on the Cross, paid the debt for us. • We can fully receive God’s mercy by acknowledging our sin, having contrition, understanding the power of the Cross and trusting in Jesus Key Terms Trust Persona Christi Contrition End of Free Preview Thanks for reviewing this Life Night!
