Pathways and Providence The Beatitudes About this Life Night This Life Night begins with a modified game of “Family Feud” and asks the question, “What does it mean to be truly happy?” After a short video that provides answers to this question, the Life Night transitions into the Proclaim. The teaching gives the teens an overview of the old and new covenants, and how the Beatitudes provide a path to happiness. During the Break, teens break into small groups to discuss several questions relating to the Beatitudes. The Life Night ends with a brief prayer and meditation in the church sanctuary near the tabernacle. Goal of This Night This Life Night helps teenagers understand that the Beatitudes prepare us for eternal life. The Life Night challenges teenagers to live the Beatitudes in their everyday life, even when it is difficult. God loves us and allows us to share in his divine life through the gift of grace. God makes covenants with humanity as part of our relationship with him. The New Covenant, through Christ, promises us life in heaven when we follow him. Jesus provides us with a way to imitate him in our lives called “The Beatitudes.” The Beatitudes are “at the heart of” Christ’s teaching.
