Overture The Desire For Community About this Life Night The Gather tests the memory of the teens by having them decipher what piece of music goes to which movie. The Proclaim emphasizes our desire for community and how that resonates in the Mass. The Break is a small group discussion that focuses on our individual experiences during quarantine. The Send is a prayer service that puts the teens in the shoes of the early Church. Goal of This Night The goal of Overture is for teens to understand our innate desire for gathering as a community and the importance of doing so for the Mass. The early Church prioritized following God’s will to worship together in His name, and to share the faith and practices given to them by Jesus Christ as a community. When we come together during the Mass, we remember all that Jesus has done and is calling us to, helping us to recognize that we were not created to journey alone.
