Love Sees Encountering Injustice About this Life Night The Gather is a reflector hunt that encourages the teens to “shine light on injustice.” The Proclaim explains the importance of seeing injustices in the world and working toward their eradication. The Break offers the teens a video encounter with the injustice of poverty and homelessness, followed by a discussion about injustices they have confronted. The Send gives the teens an opportunity to pray for those who are suffering from injustice using the reflectors from the Gather. Goal of This Night The goal of Love Sees is to help the teens reflect on experiences of injustice and begin to ask questions in favor of those who are most affected by injustice. Catechism # 2444 # 2448 Scripture Exodus 22:21 -26 Isaiah 58:5 -7 Matthew 25:31 -46 Mark 10:46 -52 Proclaim Key Concepts • God created us to live in relationships ruled by justice and love, but the reality is that many people suffer from oppression and injustice. • We cannot be blind to the injustices committed against others; we can begin to recognize and encounter these injustices by looking at how the most vulnerable in our society are taken care of. • Jesus actively encountered the poor and vulnerable and challenged the injustices committed against them.
