Under the Influence A Life Teen Issue Night on Drugs and Alcohol About this Life Night Drugs and alcohol continue to be a major issue with teens. This updated Life Night is meant to help start the discussion with teens. It is up to the youth minister, pastor, and Core Members to continue the discussion and follow up with teens and their families. The Life Night begins with a “Cross the Line” activity designed to show the group that drugs and alcohol affect everyone. The teaching for the night looks at what the Church teaches about drugs and alcohol, especially how they destroy our human dignity. After the teaching the teens will break up into small groups for discussion. The night will end by challenging the teens to place their needs in God’s hands and praying the serenity prayer as a group. Goal of This Night Catechism # 2290 # 2291 # 2847 # 2848 # 2849 Scripture Matthew 6:21 Matthew 6:24 Galatians 5:25 1 Corinthians 10:13 1 Corinthians 16:13 Ephesians 6:10 -19 1 Peter 5:8 -9 Key Concepts We are called to practice self-control and treat our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit. We must protect our holiness through the virtue of temperance. Drugs and alcohol destroy our dignity if abused and take away our true freedom found only in Christ. We must support one another, especially those in our families with substance addictions, with Christian friendship, witness and prayer. End of Free Preview Thanks for reviewing this Life Night!
