Beggar A Life Night on Jesus and the Poor About this Life Night This Life Night involves a twist that will challenge teenagers’ perception of outsiders and help them realize that every person they meet offers an opportunity to encounter Christ. The Gather features a game and video that focuses on phrases that Jesus did and did not say. The Proclaim breaks open the series and specifically challenges teenagers to recognize Christ in the poor and marginalized. Teens discuss this idea further during the Break and then take their conversation to prayer during the Send. The Life Night closes with a reveal of the “outsiders” and a challenge for the teens to evaluate how they show hospitality at youth group. Goal of This Night The goal of Beggar is to help teenagers understand that Jesus identifies with the poor, marginalized, and outcast because He was one of them. The teens are also challenged to recognize Jesus in those on the periphery of their own lives.
