Be Made Well Sacraments of Healing About this Life Night The Life Night begins with a couple of activities that break open the topic of our need for healing in a lighter way. The activities segue into the Proclaim, which recognizes our need for healing and examines Jesus’ question and invitation in our lives, “Do you want to be well?” It unpacks the two Sacraments of Healing, Penance and Anointing of the Sick. After small group discussion, the Life Night closes with two testimonies of people who have experienced healing in their lives through these sacraments. The Send wraps up with prayer for healing. Goal of This Night The goal of this Life Night is for youth to understand that God recognizes both our spiritual and physical suffering and desires to heal us. Christ established two sacraments for our healing: Penance and Anointing of the Sick. While God does not always provide miraculous physical healings, when He does, it points us to the greater healing—victory over sin and death. We always have the opportunity to experience the forgiveness of sin through Penance. Penance repairs our relationship with Christ and the Church that was broken or wounded as a result of sin. Imitating Jesus who healed the sick, Anointing of the Sick provides a special grace for those suffering from physical illness or old age. End of Free Preview Thanks for reviewing this Life Night!
