Agree to Disagreement A Life Teen Issue Night on Communication About this Life Night The Gather allows the teens to show off their debate and acting skills through made up disagreements. The Proclaim focuses on how disagreements are a part of our everyday lives and encourages the teens to not be afraid to disagree. The Break is an opportunity for the teens to practice disagreeing with someone while keeping compassion for the person and listening for their perspective on the argument. The Send is a reflection on the poem “Do it Anyways.” Goal of This Night The goal of Agree to Disagreement is for teens to learn the importance of communicating with others, especially those we disagree with, in a civil and compassionate way. Jesus is our perfect example of how to converse with those who think or believe differently than we do — He always proclaimed the truth but in a compassionate and respectful way.
