St. Pius X is an energetic and involved Catholic community, seeking a full-time Youth Minister. A successful candidate for this position is a practicing Catholic in good standing with a passionate desire, experience, and drive for enthusiastically engaging our youth in events, activities, and programs that bring them into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. Candidates also should be prayerful, respectful, optimistic, virtuous, and patient in personality.

High-level organizational and communication skills are necessary for success. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Responsibilities of the Youth Minister:
The Youth Minister will develop and maintain a comprehensive youth ministry program for middle school and high school youth at our parish, including the following:

• Coordinate ministry services and stewardship opportunities for the youth of our parish and school
• Plan, organize, market, and fundraise for retreats, camps, and trips
• Communicate regularly with parishioners and school families through a variety of print and
  digital mediums
• Establish and maintain relationships with local college students through campus ministries
• Organize the leadership of our parish young adult ministry
• Facilitate the preparation and planning of the parish Confirmation program
• Recruit and train team members and peer ministers, including the organization and moderation of a parish youth council
• Develop and maintain a budget in collaboration with the Pastoral Associate for Formation and Evangelization

The Youth Minister should have:

• B.A. in Theology, Catechetics, Education, or a related field
• A genuine love and concern for young people
• Some measurable experience in youth ministry through professional or volunteer efforts
• Excellent organizational skills and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks at one time
• Experience in recruiting, developing, and working with volunteers
• Computer and media skills
• Exceptional communication and engagement skills
• A willingness to engage and participate in parish life
• The ability to maintain a flexible schedule, attend overnight camps and retreats, and travel
• A clean driving history and willingness to submit to a background check in accordance withdiocesan policies

This position reports directly to the Pastoral Associate for Formation and Evangelization.
