As Youth Coordinator, this individual should be an extrovert, enjoy meeting new students, have a passion to develop missional disciples among our youth as described by Pope Francis, and create an environment for our young people to experience Christ’s love in and through the Church.
Youth Coordinator Responsibilities:
*Create, coordinate and be actively engaged with students in their spiritual, social and service activities.
*Maintain and further develop the 4:tweleve and Antioch programs.
*Work under the direction of the Pastor and Pastoral Associate of Evangelization to develop the spiritual life of the youth in our parish.
*Communicate with priests, staff, parents, volunteers, parishioners, and teens through social media, emails, bulletin announcements, and website.
*Ability to recruit, empower, and lead a team of volunteers, working directly with the teens and with the support network of parents and volunteers.
*Be a visible face to the parish community through Mass attendance and other parish-sponsored events.
*Work closely with the parish office staff.
*Design and implement administrative tasks and budget as necessary.
*Attend relevant parish staff meetings.
*Maintain a strong personal life of faith.
*Oversee Safe and Sacred Protocol for all adult volunteers in youth ministry.
*Other duties as assigned for the Youth Minister.
Bachelor’s Degree or greater (Preference for those with a ministry degree).
Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing
Two years of experience in campus ministry/youth ministry
Open to providing spiritual direction and vocational discernment
Demonstrated pastoral skills and the ability to collaborate and foster community.
Sincere interest in developing others in their relationship with The Lord and the Church
Healthy understanding of and appreciation for young students with knowledge of current trends and culture
Maintain a strong personal witness supported by prayer life and participation in the Sacraments
Expected to be available nights, weekends, overnights, campus Masses and other times based upon the given schedule of events
Collaborates and works well with others
A degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office and active on social media
Needs to be highly organized and an excellent communicator

About: St. Alphonsus Liguori, an active and growing parish of over 1200 families in Zionsville Indiana (a suburb of Indianapolis), is seeking a dynamic individual to become our Youth Ministry Coordinator. The focus of this position is evangelization through our 4:twelve (Junior High) and Antioch (Senior High) programs so that we may bring our youth into a deeper knowledge of Christ and the Church.
