Edge Middle School Ministry Responsibilities:

• Recruit and Train a volunteer ministry team made up of older high school teens (11th & 12th graders), college students/young adults, and Edge parents
• Plan semester calendar
• Review curriculum resources and choose curriculum content for each semester
• Weekly emails to Edge families/Ongoing promotions and publicizing of Edge events (in addition to email communicate via website, parish bulletin & social media)
• Weekly communications / planning with Edge Team
• Recruit and coordinate with a hospitality parent(s) for weekly Edge meals
• Implementing Diocesan mandated Circle of Grace program for this age group
• Schedule Summer Camp (includes reserving spaces, advertising trip, registration, paperwork, recruiting chaperones, etc.)
• Relational Ministry with Edge teens
• Staff liaison for parish altar server ministry – recruit & train altar servers, maintain schedule and communication with families.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Sacramental Preparation for Confirmation Responsibilities:

• Publicize and plan introduction meeting for parents, teens
• Select Confirmation program materials
• Recruit & Train Volunteer team for Confirmation Groups, keep up regular communication with leaders, team meetings to go over lesson curriculum and catechetical content
• Facilitate Sunday AM Confirmation Sessions (prepare leader and student materials for each session)
• Track attendance for Small Group Meetings, Service Projects & Retreat
• Send make-up reminders to students who miss sessions
• Relational Ministry

Collaboration with the Director of Youth Ministry:

• This may include helping to plan/implement special events that will involve the participation of Edge Students / Confirmation students such as retreats, works of mercy projects, special trips, guest speakers, etc.
• Working together on activity promotions / communications / social media

REQUIREMENTS

• A candidate for this position will have a solid Catholic faith background, dynamic people-skills, strong organization and time management skills.
• Youth ministry experience and a passion to help youth grow in their faith.
• Experience with computer software and Microsoft Office Applications.
• Must have good written and verbal skills; a passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to express ideas clearly, creatively, and logically, both orally and in writing.
• Bachelor’s degree in theology, theological studies, or related field preferred.
