DESCRIPTION

Full-time dynamic and passionate Catholic who will lead our high school teenagers closer to Christ through relationships, example, teaching, prayer, service, and facilitation of transformational encounters with God. Using the Life Teen model, will work with teenagers, adult volunteers, parents, clergy, parish staff, and community members to achieve the goal of forming young disciples.

Description:

  • Step into teenagers’ lives by attending school plays, sports events, etc. to do relational ministry off-campus
  • Plan and execute weekly Life Teen Life Nights for high schoolers during the academic year, with a mix of catechetical, social, service, and spiritual content.
  • ead a dynamic weekly Bible study/prayer group for high schoolers
  • Recruit, train, lead, and support Life Teen Core Members (adult volunteers)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and Pastor
  • Communicate, advertise, and invite teenagers & parents through digital, print, and social media
  • Along with a team of adults and teenagers, plan and execute at least 2 annual weekend retreats
  • oordinate service opportunities and trips locally and possibly regionally
  • Execute special event trips – Steubenville Conference, March for Life, Life Teen Leadership Conference, etc.
  • Maintain involvement from students during summertime with spiritual and social events
  • Facilitate Confirmation preparation program for 9-10th graders
  • Foster teen involvement in liturgies as greeters, ushers, lectors, gift bearers, etc.
  • Oversee one part-time assistant who covers administrative, scheduling, and hospitality responsibilities
  • Salary commensurate with experience, including diocesan benefits

Qualifications:

  • Active, participating, prayerful Catholic who loves God and the Catholic Church
  • Appropriate knowledge of Catholic theology and faithfulness to her teachings
  • Has experience in Youth Ministry
  • Ability to relate well to teens while remaining an authority figure
  • Ability to teach, present, and pray in large and small group settings
  • Creativity and Vision
  • Flexibility and Availability for evenings & weekends
  • Technologically proficient with computers, audio/visual equipment, social media platforms
  • Openness to collaboration regarding program reviews and changes
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
