The position is for a Youth Minister who will split his/her time between Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Savannah, Georgia and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Port Wentworth, Georgia. The primary focus will be on the development and running of a youth program at both communities, and being part of the team that prepares young people for Confirmation. The Youth Minister must be involved in the life of both communities especially during the weekends to build trust and engage young people, and in doing so, build trust with parents and the community as a whole.

General Characteristics:

Practicing Catholic, Dynamic, Culturally competent, Fluent in English and understanding of Spanish (to engage parents of youth), Degree or certificate in theology or catechetics (highly recommended but not mandatory), Experience in work with youth in a Catholic context, Excellent organizational and verbal skills, Self-motivated, Engaging personality, Able to multi-task

Responsibilities at Corpus Christi

• Teach Confirmation Class in collaboration with volunteers
• Organize weekly youth group meeting
• Organize periodic parish events and activities to engage youth and their families

Responsibilities at Our Lady of Lourdes

• Teach Confirmation Class in collaboration with volunteers
• Organize weekly youth group meeting
• Lead or facilitate guitar lessons for young people
• Organize periodic parish events and activities to engage youth and their families
