Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Tallahassee, Florida is seeking a High School Youth Minister to coordinate the Life Teen High School Youth Ministry and Confirmation program. The High School Youth Minister is responsible for establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships with teens, parents, staff, and volunteers while working as part of a team to minster to our youth and their families. The High School Youth Minister will be responsible for the following:

• Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and conducting a comprehensive program of educational, spiritual, and social activities for parish high school students (grades 9-12) and parish Confirmation program (grade 9)
• Organize, recruit, train, and lead adult volunteers (Core Team) to assist in planning and running of the Life Teen Youth Ministry Program
• Coordination of the parish Life Teen mass and having teens involved in the liturgy
• Communicate, market, and advertise on behalf of the Youth Ministry and Parish
• Actively collaborate with parish staff and maintain a strong teamwork mentality with other parish committees.
• Lead youth to recognize the call of God in their life relating to vocation
• Lead and coordinate monthly Pancake Breakfast or other fundraising activity
• Lead and manage the annual Daddy Daughter Dance, including, but not limited to planning, coordination and communication, as well as managing the DDD Coordinator
• Ensure a safe environment for all high school youth
• Maintain proper balance and understanding of the importance of a teen’s trust of the youth minister with the parent’s right to know important information involving their teens.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The High School Youth Minister must be a fully-initiated, practicing Roman Catholic. He/she must have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in youth ministry, preferably in leadership and have worked in a parish. A minimum educational requirement of a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Religious Education, Youth Ministry, or other related field (Education, Psychology, etc.) is required. Prior to employment, the candidate MUST complete and pass the Safe Environment requirements of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee.
