DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Frankfort, KY, is seeking a passionate and dynamic person to join our family as a Youth Minister. This position is part-time. We require a person who is fully initiated into the Catholic Church and can inspire teenagers to pursue their faith. This position would focus primarily on sharing the beauty and goodness of the faith in a fun and exciting way.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Youth Minister will be responsible for providing opportunities for middle and high school students to explore Catholic Teachings and how they can be put into action in their lives. It is expected that the minister will hold regularly scheduled meetings with the youth in order to perform their responsibilities. These meetings will also include opportunities for Reconciliation, Eucharistic Exposition and Adoration, and other prayer and service opportunities. Regular contact with our Diocesan Youth Director and incorporation of diocesan programming is required. Each summer there will be a mission trip to a Catholic Heart Work Camp or something similar, VBS or Totus Tuus, where the Youth Coordinator will lead the effort. If not Catechist Certified through our diocese, it will be a priority for certification. The Youth Minister is also expected to attend Staff meetings twice a month (usually 1.5 hours), weekly meeting with Faith Formation Director (30 minutes), and the occasional meetings with other bodies of Good Shepherd. The Youth Minister is also accountable for preparing and following a yearly budget, Safe Environment, and all diocesan standards.

Our Good Shepherd Church includes approximately 700 families and our parochial school. Our middle and high school youth love participating in service opportunities, Catholic Heart Workcamp, and Totus Tuus.
