DESCRIPTION
Are you between the ages of 16-25 and looking for a fun, fulfilling, and faith-filled summer? We’ve got a place for you at Whispering Winds! Summer support staff (SSS) live and work at camp in all facets of camp operations, including food service, housekeeping, facilities, and recreation. Working at a camp allows you to create moments that contribute to a meaningful life. Every moment on the job makes you realize that what you’re doing isn’t merely a part of your job, but it’s more about building a life that matters for you and for everyone you’re serving.
While SSS is a young adult position, this year, we are opening the ranks to include Junior SSS for our high school-aged community!
Program Dates:
Summer Support Staff (SSS): June 1-July 14th or July 15-August 20th
Training for SSS June 1-June 5th
Junior SSS: Please indicate your availability on your application. We will be inviting Junior SSS up to camp for 1-2 week sessions throughout the summer.
Whispering Winds Catholic Conference Center is a refuge, a place where youth, individuals, couples, families, and groups can get away and hear God’s voice in the beauty of nature. Nestled in the Cuyamaca Mountains, Whispering Winds is located on 161 acres in the scenic Cleveland National Forest, five miles south of the historic gold-mining town of Julian – about an hour’s drive from San Diego. We are a lay directed, tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation. While we are the only Catholic-based camp of its kind in all of Southern California, Whispering Winds is open year-round to all faiths.
The mission of Whispering Winds Catholic Conference Center is to provide a Christ-centered environment, apart from the everyday world, where all are welcome to increase their knowledge of and commitment to Christ, and join as fellow pilgrims on their journey of faith with God.
