Program Assistant for Marriage Ministry

DESCRIPTION

This position will provide support to the ministry of Family Life within the Office of Lifelong Faith Formation and Parish Support as related to the marriage preparation program, Transformed in Love. This is an hourly position with up to 24 hours per week; three, 8-hour days or four, 6-hour days including one Friday night and Saturday per month. Some hours may be done remotely.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer inbound telephone calls and emails in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
  • Manage all aspects of the registration process for Transformed in Love (TiL) which includes working with our digital registration system.
  • Set up and monitor the TiL events on evangelizeboston.com
  • Reserve rooms, coordinate set up, and manage catering.
  • Interact in a positive and professional manner with staff and visitors at the Pastoral Center.
  • Set up and assist with TiL workshops and other related events.
  • Oversee package and shipping of materials and resources to engaged couples, parishes, etc.
  • Process invoices, payments, and deposits.
  • Correspond with couples via email regarding details of workshops and more.
  • Collaborate with balance of team to book speakers, arrange stipends, and provide resources.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Catholic in good standing, who understands and is able and willing to be a witness to one’s own relationship to Christ in order to support the mission of evangelization of the Archdiocese of Boston and the Catholic Church.
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience with event planning and management preferred.
  • Experience working in a Catholic entity preferred.
  • Proficient with all aspects of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with the public and handling issues/complaints in a pastoral manner.
  • Good organizational skills: Ability to be detail oriented, take initiative, problem solve, multi-task.
  • A team player.
  • A positive and upbeat attitude and demeanor.

PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS

  • Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
  • Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
  • Ability to be on your feet for 2 hours/day.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
