DESCRIPTION
The Middle School Youth Minister works on the Faith Formation Team and is partnered with an experienced High School Youth Minister. The Middle School Youth Minister is tasked with transitioning and executing our middle school youth ministry. Success in this position depends on the development of a culture of encounter and accompaniment – meaning that this person needs to be able to recruit and train volunteers who are capable of sharing witness and forming relationships with youth.
Middle School youth are at an age developmentally where they present a great opportunity to have a first encounter and first commitment to Jesus Christ. We are transitioning out of a model of classroom catechesis and into a more experiential model of youth ministry. The person in this position will develop a blend of opportunities for “encounter” while also building a youth ministry with developmentally appropriate catechesis.

Youth Ministry is a time consuming and challenging ministry. Ave Maria Catholic Parish is a growing parish community with an extremely supportive and mission oriented staff. We value your spiritual, emotional, and personal health. We, as a parish, want to invest in you by offering you opportunities for prayer, continuing education, personal retreat and leadership
development. You are encouraged to spend one hour of each workday in prayer. The
parish will pay for you to take a class through the Augustine Institute or the Denver
Biblical School.
As a staff, we value teamwork and collaboration. Our experienced Parish Leadership Team mentors the members of their departments to help them be productive while maintaining a healthy balance between ministry and everyday life. You will work on a Faith Formation Team that has a Director with 17 years of youth ministry experience and a High School Youth Minister that has built a rapidly growing, discipleship-focused youth ministry. You will have an opportunity to be mentored under a wealth of experience in youth ministry. We want you to thrive in ministry and we want your gifts and talents to be put to the building of the Kingdom of God.

The employee is expected to be a practicing Catholic in good standing, faithful to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church, and an active member of a parish. Thus, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the teachings, goals, and mission of the Church modeling Christian virtues in every aspect of their lives. Every employee must undergo a background check and training with Diocesan Standards.
