Role
The Membership Director guides great stories by incarnating our core values personally and by inviting new students, parents, alumni and friends to become members and supporters of the St. Lawrence Catholic Center. The Director adheres to the core values of the Center, which are:

Qualifications
The Director is a practicing Catholic who upholds all Church teaching by manner of life. Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in communication, event coordination and fundraising preferred. The Director must be a strong communicator and personable. The ability to organize and prioritize many projects is essential. The Director must be a team player and a multiplier.
Responsibilities (40 hours)
Events (8)
Envisions, plans, and executes all of the following St. Lawrence events, from beginning to end. Collaborates with other staff, board members, alumni, volunteers and vendors.
Winefest Signature Event (with outside coordinator)
KU Catholic Chapter Gatherings
Parent’s Weekend Event
Greek Parent Weekend Socials
End of Year Awards Banquet, Senior Dinner and Graduation
Students (4)
Works with St. Lawrence Advancement Interns to effectively connect and host parents and alumni donors.
Coordinates 4 student interns in event preparation and execution.
Engages interns with the SLC benefactor thank you process
Coordinates interns to engage their KU peers in stewardship
Annual Gifts (8)
Personally contacts alumni, parents and friends to activate new annual gifts for the Center, with a particular emphasis on sustainable monthly giving. The goal is 100 new donors each year.
Sends out 6 appeals annually, by mail and e-mail/social media (Back to School, Parent, Matching Gift Weekend, WineFEST, Christmas and Lent)
Invites support weekly through an email and social media post
Personally invites financial support from all new parents and newly graduated students
Communications (10)
Manages the KU Catholic brand and Social Media postings, and advancement section of kucatholic.org website
Collects student and alumni stories, both in writing and in video/photos for sharing
Works with graphic designer for the publishing of Catholics on the Hill (2x a year), Annual Report, Senior Profiles, event promotions, mailings and email/social media
Staff (8)
Manages up to four (4) St. Lawrence Advancement Interns who are on stipend and in the St. Lawrence Mission Formation program
60 minute team weekly and 1 hour mission formation monthly
Staff 60 minute weekly
Supervisory 30 minute weekly
Staff Days of Recollection and Retreat
Attends Board of Directors meetings as needed
Records, Platforms and Donor Recognition (2)
Maintain and improve database (top 4000 mailing list)
Ensure accurate recording of gifts and communication to accounting
Manage Donor Recognition Process
Manage event platforms and online giving through kucatholic.org and divinewinefest.com
Salaried according to ability and experience. Reasonable Work and non-office Travel Expenses Reimbursed. Annual raise considered June 30th of each year. Full Archdiocesan Benefit Package Offered. Personal Health and Continuing Education benefits as outlined in employee handbook.
