THE POSITION: The Manager of Food Services will organize and supervise the kitchen staff and volunteers in the preparation, serving of up to three daily fresh meals to campers and staff at Annunciation Heights. The Food Service Manager will manage the smooth operation of all Dining Hall activities including the supervision of food budgets, food ordering, food preparation, and maintain the kitchen to health department standards. This role will report to the Camp’s CEO/Executive Director.
–Responsible for the day to day operations of the commercial kitchen and dining hall at Annunciation Heights. Daily meal preparation. Preparation and/or execution of any or all meal components. Supervise Kitchen Staff and Volunteers in accomplishing all daily assignments and any facets necessary for daily food service.
–Supervise and perform Annual Evaluation of Kitchen Staff.
–Ordering, purveyor communication, inventory and organizing product.
–Weekly menu development (including posting) and cross utilization of product, optimizing for minimal waste.
–Direct the cleaning of the Dining Hall to ensure the highest degree of health standards.
–Supervise Kitchen Staff effectively to create a positive work environment.
–Ensure all kitchen equipment is functioning properly and work with vendors to regularly service equipment.
–Work with CEO/Executive Director in planning and preparing annual food budget and monitoring throughout the year.
–Help the CEO/Executive Director analyze food production costs and economies of scale in order to make food consumption, waste, costs as economical as possible.
–Work with CEO/Executive Director in developing new menus and menu rotations and health eating options for staff and campers.
–Help to create an authentic hospitable dining room experience for all guests in order to advance the mission of the camp.
–Be available to work during the week and weekends to meet the demands of the camp’s guests.
–Responsible for staying compliant with all Health Department rules and regulations including scheduling inspections with Health Department as needed.
–Prepare and teach a Volunteer Food Preparation Training Course (VFPTC) for all Annunciation Heights Kitchen Volunteers that meets the standards of the Health Department. Teach the VFPTC as needed throughout the year to new volunteers and keep a log of certificates for those volunteers who have passed the course.
–Help to find new kitchen staff and volunteers.
–Willing to participate in continuing education courses/conferences to enhance Food Service at Annunciation Heights.
–Local travel required for obtaining supplies, etc for kitchen.
–Minimum of two to five years of culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training.
–High volume cooking experience preferred.
–Knowledge of food service trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
–Experience with management of food production for large cafeterias, buffet style restaurants, or their equivalent preferred.

–Refrain from public promotion or approval of any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals.
–High volume cooking experience preferred.
–Proficiency in all areas of a kitchen.
–Ability and experience to execute and direct tasks with proficiency and high culinary standards.
–Ability to apply problem solving skills essential in developing solutions for unanticipated issues and challenges.
–Ability to delegate & manage staff effectively.
–Ability to multi task and set priorities.
–Must be detail oriented.
–High energy level, flexible personality, and ability to work well with a wide range of styles and personalities, both internally and externally.
–Excellent organizational and communication skills.
–Require knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel products.
–Requires valid driver’s license.
–Ability to operate computer and mouse, copier/printer and telephone.
–Must be able to remain standing for most of working hours.
–Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
–Must be able to perform respective tasks.
–Must be able to work flexible hours and days and long hours.
–May be exposed to hot, humid work areas.
–May be exposed to sharp instruments and power-driven equipment.
–May be exposed to caustic chemicals.
–Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities and Duties Common to all Staff:
–A practicing Christian who seeks to follow Christ in his/her daily living and in interaction with other staff and guests (campers, parents, volunteer staff, user groups, etc.)
–To exemplify a general attitude of helpfulness to other staff and volunteers, campers, parents, and user groups
–To give assistance in any phase of the ongoing operation of the camp when need warrants and when assigned by the Executive Director
–To joyfully give 100% effort to the job, understanding that it is all encompassing and requires more than 40 hours per week during the summer
–Excellent administrative and organizational skills
–Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
–Excellent time management and organizational skills
–Knowledge of, or ability to learn various accounting software programs and CampBrain, the software program of Annunciation Heights
