DESCRIPTION
Our missionaries work on a small mission team along with our directors and volunteers to run our maternity home which houses pregnant and parenting women experiencing homelessness. As a Missionary Ima you will live alongside our resident moms and their babies helping to cultivate a strong community so that our residents have a safe place to rest, heal, and grow. Through trauma-informed care, we aim to give our moms the highest quality of support and love so that they feel equipped and ready to make the best future for themselves and their babies. As a missionary you will help with daily house activities, plan programs and events for to build up the community, interview and assist with move in and move out of moms, build healthy relationships with residents and walk with them during their time in our home.
Mater Filius Queen City is a Catholic Maternity Home providing transformational housing, community, and support to pregnant and parenting women experiencing homelessness. Through multi-faceted programming and trauma informed care, we seek to offer moms in need respite, and empower them in their goals as women and mothers to provide the best future possible for themselves and their children.
